Elisaveta Apostolova

Elisaveta Apostolova is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmacotherapy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Plovdiv. She specializes in pharmacology, toxicology, and phytotherapeutics, with a research focus on CNS drugs, natural substances like fucoidan and propolis, and their effects on inflammation, pain, and neuropharmacology.

• Education: Master in Pharmacy (2008) from Medical University - Sofia, PhD in Pharmacology (2015) with a thesis on retigabine's neuropharmacological effects.

Her work spans translational neuroscience, molecular medicine, and innovative pharmaceutical applications, including projects on drug toxicity and liver protection. She has contributed to 31 peer-reviewed publications (25 in JCR® journals) and participated in 47 scientific conferences.

Research areas include:

• Neuronal and neuromuscular activity of CNS drugs (Retigabine, Etifoxine)
• Anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties of fucoidans
• Plant extracts in wound healing and drug toxicity models
• Pharmacokinetics and chemotherapy
