Prof. Elisabetta Barocelli (University of Parma, Department of Food and Drug Sciences) is a full professor of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy with extensive leadership experience in academic governance. She has served as Head of the Pharmacy course, Director of multiple departments, and member of the Academic Senate.

Her research focuses on gastrointestinal pharmacology, neuropharmacology, and drug development targeting:
- Mesenteric ischemia/reperfusion
- Gastrointestinal motility modulation
- Histaminergic/cholinergic systems
- Ephrin pathway
- CNS drug delivery
- Food xenobiotic toxicology
- Upper GI dysmotility in Parkinson's disease
Recent publications highlight her work in colonoid modeling, EphA2-targeting agents, and anti-IBD therapies. She serves on ethical committees for drug research and animal welfare while leading doctoral programs in pharmacology.
