Valentina Zuliani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Food and Drug Sciences at the University of Parma, Italy. She has been a full-time faculty member since 2015, previously serving as Assistant Professor from 2000 to 2015. Her academic roles include teaching courses like Drug Analysis I and Basic Techniques and Safety in the Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory, and she currently serves as Delegate for Incoming Orientation in her department.
- Education: Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry (2000), Degree in Medicinal Chemistry (1997, cum laude) from the University of Parma.
Research Interests: Focus on developing therapeutic agents targeting:
- Histamine H3-receptor antagonists
- EGFr inhibitors for cancer
- Sodium channel blockers for epilepsy and neuropathic pain
- Glioblastoma-targeting molecules
Academic Contributions: Taught Drug Analysis I (2016–2023), Drug Analysis II (2001–2015), and laboratory courses. Served on Ph.D. boards, department juntas, and quality assurance committees.
Publications: Recent work includes glioblastoma inhibitors, antiviral agents, and CNS-targeting compounds. Collaborated with researchers like Mirko Rivara and Alessio Malacrida.
