Elisabeth Shafer is an Assistant Professor of Trombone at The Ohio State University. She holds a DMA from Boston University (2018), MM from Yale University (2015), and BM from Temple University (2013). Her expertise spans tenor, bass, and alto trombone performance, pedagogy, and chamber music.
- Performs with orchestras including Memphis Symphony, ProMusica Columbus, and Detroit Chamber Winds.
- Former faculty at University of Memphis and University of Akron.
- Teaching artist with Music in Schools Initiative and Luzerne Music Center.
She has presented at American Trombone Workshop, International Trombone Festival, and International Women's Brass Conference. Notable performances include solo recitals emphasizing works by female composers. Active in clinics across US universities and a Conn-Selmer Artist.
