She leads initiatives in oxygen therapy implementation, lung ultrasound training, and global health delivery.
Dr. Riviello's work emphasizes clinical trials in Sub-Saharan Africa, such as the BREATHE trial evaluating high-flow oxygen therapy. She co-developed the Kigali modification for diagnosing ARDS in low-resource settings and contributed to global guidelines on oxygen as an essential medicine. Awards include the Shore Award for her research on acute respiratory failure.
Her academic contributions span medical education, including curriculum development for global critical care training. She collaborates with organizations like the Paul Farmer Collaborative and the Global Health Delivery Partnership to strengthen healthcare systems in Rwanda, Kenya, and Malawi.
