David Lissauer is a Professor of Global Maternal and Fetal Health at the University of Liverpool, affiliated with the Department of Women's and Children's Health. He served as deputy director of the Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Research Institute and co-leads the NIHR 'SAFE Motherhood' Global Health Research Group. His work focuses on maternal infections, immunity, and global maternal health, particularly in low-income countries.
Research Interests
Lissauer's research addresses maternal infections, sepsis prevention, and recurrent miscarriage. His work emphasizes clinical trials, evidence synthesis, and implementation research to improve maternal healthcare in low-resource settings. Key projects include the AIMS trial and studies on maternal sepsis in Malawi, Uganda, and Pakistan.
