Elisabeth Michielsens

Dr. Elisabeth Michielsens is a Principal Lecturer at the University of Westminster, affiliated with the School of Organisations, Economy and Society (SOES) within the Westminster Business School. She holds a PhD in HRM from the University of Westminster (2016), a Post Graduate Award in Applied Business Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven (1988), and a Licentiate in Political and Social Sciences from the University of Antwerp (1986). Her academic leadership roles include SOES School Research Lead, interim WBS PhD Coordinator (2021-22), Chair of the Faculty Research Ethics Committee, and WBS PhD Admissions Tutor.

Her research focuses on diversity management, gender equality, and social inclusion, particularly in underrepresented groups such as women in STEMM and manual trades, and refugees' entrepreneurship activities. She has supervised 10 PhD students to completion and currently oversees four doctoral candidates. Her teaching expertise spans research methods, dissertation preparation, and modules in International HRM and Organisational Behaviour.

Dr. Michielsens is actively involved in the Centre for Employment Research and contributes to policy-relevant studies addressing equality and diversity in European contexts. Her methodological strengths include qualitative research and ethical research practices.
