Elinor Carucci is a renowned fine art photographer and educator, currently serving as a faculty member at the Graduate Program in Photography and Lens-based Art at the School of Visual Arts. She has also held visiting teaching positions at Princeton University, Harvard University, Lesley University, and ICP.

Carucci's work revolves around autobiographical narratives, exploring themes of family, motherhood, aging, gender, and cultural identity through intimate portraiture. Her series often blend candid snapshots with staged scenes, and she has published five monographs, including Midlife (2019) and The Collars of RBG (2023).
The trends in her publications highlight a focus on personal and universal experiences, such as the complexities of family dynamics, cultural performance (e.g., belly dancing), and aging. Her 2023 book examines the symbolic significance of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's collars.
