Eliana La Ferrara is a Professor of Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, with affiliations at the Center for International Development. She holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University (1999) and previously served as the Invernizzi Chair in Development Economics at Bocconi University, where she founded the Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP). Her research bridges Development Economics and Political Economics, focusing on social factors in development, including ethnic diversity, kinship structures, social norms, and the impact of media and conflict.
Her work spans methodologies combining fieldwork, empirical analysis, and microeconomic theory.
