Eleanore Gardner is a Lecturer in English at Charles Sturt University's School of Social Work and Arts, based in Port Macquarie. She specializes in literary studies, children's literature, and creative writing, with a focus on Gothic and crime-fiction texts.

Her research examines the literary antiheroine through theoretical lenses including abjection, the monstrous-feminine, and gender/sexuality dynamics. She has published a monograph, Disruptive Women of Literature: Rooting for the Antiheroine (2024), and forthcoming co-authored works analyze TV adaptations, censorship, and queer representation. Her scholarship appears in Camera Obscura, Feminist Media Studies, and Critique. Future projects include studies on Roald Dahl adaptations and dark academia genre trends.
