Effie Antonoudi is an Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator in the Department of Financial Planning, Housing, and Consumer Economics at the University of Georgia's College of Family and Consumer Sciences. She oversees undergraduate programs and collaborates with other academic units and community partners. Her expertise spans consumer decision-making, wealth management, and financial crises, particularly Greece's economic challenges. She holds a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University (2023), an MBA and Master of Professional Accountancy from Georgia State University (2009), and a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Macedonia (2006). She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
Effie's research focuses on consumer policy, tax planning, and the aftermath of financial crises. She created UGA's Greece Study Abroad Program, which examines Greece's economic crisis and its impact on consumers. Her teaching includes courses like Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, and Consumer Policy.
