Edwyna T. Theresa Hill is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on mood/emotions, organizational justice, and leadership dynamics. She holds a Ph.D. in Management (Organizational Behavior) from the University of Georgia (2021), an MBA from the University of Florida (2014), and a B.S. in Public Relations (2009). Prior to academia, she worked in healthcare administration (2010–2016).
Her academic contributions span peer-reviewed journals like Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and Journal of Applied Psychology. She has received the Promising Young Scholar Research Excellence Award (2020) and the Knox Doctoral Scholars Fellowship (2016–2021). Teaching highlights include high-rated courses in Organizational Behavior (UGA, 2020) and Human Resource Management (UGA, 2019).
Hill’s work explores how emotions and affective states influence workplace fairness, leadership effectiveness, and employee behavior. Notable projects include analyzing supervisory baggage’s impact on trust and investigating legacy inheritance effects in teams. She has secured grant funding from the Riegel & Emory HR Center (2021) and actively contributes to academic service as a reviewer for top journals like Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Applied Psychology.
Her research also intersects with methodological rigor, as seen in her work on content validation criteria. She is affiliated with the Academy of Management, The PhD Project, and the Management Faculty of Color Association. Current works in progress include studies on CEO strategic communication, status threat reactions, and leader emotional complexity.
