Edwin Fohtung is an Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), USA. He concurrently serves as a Visiting Professor at Lund University (Sweden) and holds a Humboldt Excellence Fellowship at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany). His research focuses on nanoscale structure characterization of functional materials using advanced x-ray and neutron scattering techniques. Key areas include ferroelectric domain dynamics, defect engineering, and coherent diffractive imaging.
Education: Dr. rer. nat. (Summa Cum Laude) in Electronic & Materials Physics from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (2010), M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Applied Physics from St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University (2007/2005).
