Edward M. Iacobucci is a Professor and TSE Chair in Capital Markets at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. He holds advanced degrees in economics and law, including a Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford and a LL.B. from the University of Toronto. His academic career includes visiting roles at Tsinghua University, New York University, University of Chicago, and Columbia University.

Iacobucci’s research spans corporate law, competition law, and law and economics. His work analyzes governance structures, market regulation, and legal-economic interactions. Key trends in his publications include antitrust analysis, corporate governance of income trusts, and reputational economies in law firms.
Scientific awards include the Doug Purvis Prize in Canadian Economics (2002-2003) for his co-authored work on competition policy and the Mewett Award for Excellence in Teaching (2000). He also received the Angus MacMurchy Gold Medal (1996) as the top law graduate at the University of Toronto.
Iacobucci has served on the Law Society of Upper Canada, Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company (2008-2013), and Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada committees. His grants and affiliations include the CD Howe Institute and TSE Chair.
