Edward Knudsen

Edward Knudsen is a Research Fellow at the Hertie School's Centre for International Security and an Affiliate Research Fellow at the Jacques Delors Centre. His research focuses on transatlantic political economy, analyzing intersections between geoeconomics and geopolitics. He has conducted projects for the German Foreign Office on comparative soft power, contributed to the Berggruen Governance Index, and served as an editorial assistant for Global Perspectives. Previously, he advised the European Parliament’s S&D group on trade policy and worked at Chatham House's US and the Americas Programme.

Education: MSc in International Political Economy (London School of Economics) and BA in Economics & History (University of Wisconsin-Madison).

His work explores contemporary challenges in transatlantic relations, including sanctions, trade policies, and strategic autonomy. He has published on post-Trump transatlantic trade dynamics and US foreign policy shifts. His research often bridges academic analysis with policy-oriented insights.
