Dr. Edward Janes is a Research Associate in the School of Psychology at Cardiff University. His work focuses on children’s social care, particularly the Wales Adoption Cohort Study (WACS), a longitudinal study examining adoptive parents' experiences and early adversity impacts. He specializes in young carers—children caring for family members due to illness or disability—and has conducted doctoral research and an ESRC-funded postdoctoral fellowship on this topic. His research interests include public health, children’s rights, and mixed-methods approaches like phenomenology and structural equation modeling.
