Edmond F. Maes is an epidemiology instructor at the University of Georgia's College of Public Health and an Adjunct Professor in Global Health at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. He holds a Doctorate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from UCLA and a Master’s in Epidemiology from Harvard University. His career spans over three decades with the CDC, where he contributed to cancer, reproductive health, lead poisoning, injury surveillance, immunization programs, and polio eradication. He founded the CDC's Georgia country office and developed the South Caucasus Regional Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program in collaboration with Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. He continues to support polio eradication and mentors epidemiology fellows globally.
