Edisanter Lo is a Professor in the Department of Math and Computer Sciences at Susquehanna University. He coordinates the data science/analytics and actuarial science programs, and directs the GO Tokyo initiative. Prior to Susquehanna, he worked for 12 years as a scientist at NASA Ames' Planetary Geology Group and NASA Regional Planetary Image Facility at Arizona State University.
- Education: PhD in Computational Mathematics from Arizona State University; MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Arkansas; BS in Mathematics from Louisiana Tech University.
His research focuses on statistical modeling for detection systems, numerical solutions of functional differential equations, and applications in planetary geology. Earlier work involved NASA-funded robotic planetary missions, scientific data analysis, visualization, and digital image processing. He has conducted summer research at U.S. Military Academy's Photonic Research Laboratory, U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, and U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory.
Lo’s career spans academia and government research, with expertise in mathematical and statistical techniques for scientific programming and hyperspectral imaging. He has published 39 journal and conference papers and received funding from the Office of Naval Research for a one-year sabbatical.
