Edd Noell is a Professor of Economics and Business and Department Co-Chair at Westmont College. He has been a member of the faculty since 1986 and holds leadership roles, including presidency of the Association of Christian Economists. His academic work bridges economic theory, historical analysis, and ethical considerations.

Dr. Noell specializes in the history of economic thought, focusing on the evolution of economic ideas from the Scholastics and Protestant Reformers to Adam Smith. His research also explores the moral implications of economic growth and the intersection of Christianity with economic principles. Additionally, he has contributed to studies on ancient Mediterranean economies.
Awarded Faculty Researcher of the Year (2015) and Teacher of the Year (1998), Dr. Noell co-authored Economic Growth: Unleashing the Potential of Human Flourishing (2013) and Reckoning with Markets: Moral Reflection in Economics (2012). He has co-directed international programs in Asia and Europe, including the Westmont Europe Semester.
Dr. Noell actively engages in academic service as president of the Association of Christian Economists, emphasizing interdisciplinary dialogue between economics, philosophy, and theology. His teaching and mentorship reflect a commitment to integrating ethical frameworks into economic education.
