Marianne Ruel Robins is a Professor of History and Chair of the History Department at Westmont College. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Paris I, La Sorbonne, and has been affiliated with Westmont since 1996. Her research focuses on Holocaust studies, particularly the history of rescue efforts among French Protestants, alongside expertise in medieval Mediterranean history and early modern European religious culture.

Research Interests: Robins explores themes such as religious identity in modern France, the intersection of faith and societal practices (e.g., dance), and historical narratives of resistance and rescue during the Holocaust. Awards & Leadership: She received the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award and led the Westmont Mediterranean Semester program in 2011, reflecting her commitment to experiential learning and interdisciplinary historical education.
