معرفی
Professor Ed Louis leads genetics research at the University of Leicester's Department of Genetics and Genome Biology. His career spans yeast telomere biology, genome evolution, and complex trait architecture.
After a PhD at UC Berkeley studying human population genetics, he pioneered yeast models for telomere function at Oxford as a Wellcome Trust Fellow. His current work explores Saccharomyces biodiversity for industrial applications and develops hybrid yeast systems for studying human disease mechanisms.
He previously directed the Centre for Genetic Architecture of Complex Traits (GACT) and held professorships at Nottingham and Oxford. His research integrates experimental genetics with computational approaches to understand genome stability and evolutionary adaptation.
