Prof. Dr. Dörthe Katschinski is a Professor of Physiology at the University of Göttingen Medical Center since 2006. Her research focuses on hypoxia sensing, signaling, and adaptation, particularly in cardiovascular systems. She leads the Department of Cardiovascular Physiology, with affiliations in Cardiovascular Science and Molecular Medicine. Her work integrates cellular and molecular mechanisms, including mitochondrial function, redox regulation, and ischemia-reperfusion injury. Key contributions include studies on HIF prolyl hydroxylase inhibitors for cardioprotection and the use of transgenic biosensor mice to monitor redox states in vivo.
