Dylan Ioannou-Booth is a Lecturer at Melbourne Law School, The University of Melbourne. He practices as defence counsel in criminal and quasi-criminal matters across Victoria and interstate. Prior to his legal career, he served as an Associate to Judge Nola Karapanagiotidis at the County Court of Victoria and worked as a solicitor at a criminal defence firm.
Academically, Dylan is completing a Master of Laws (LLM) at the Australian National University while lecturing at the University of Melbourne. His professional affiliations include memberships in the Supreme Court of Victoria and High Court of Australia bars. He actively engages with Indigenous communities through volunteer work with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, and collaborates with Aboriginal legal services such as NAAJA and ALSWA to address justice issues in Indigenous communities.
His legal practice and academic contributions focus on criminal law, Indigenous justice, and human rights advocacy. Dylan’s pro bono work emphasizes equitable access to justice for marginalized groups, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
