Dyfrig Hughes is Professor of Pharmacoeconomics at Bangor University, where he co-directs the Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation and serves as Director of Impact and Engagement. His research spans pharmacoeconomics, health technology assessment, and pharmaceutical policy.
He leads the Pharmaceutical Economics, Pricing and Prescribing Research group, conducting trial-based economic evaluations for conditions including cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and rare diseases. Professor Hughes advises national health policy through the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group and NHS England's Genomics Programme. An honorary professor at University of Liverpool, he has authored 200+ publications with over 9,500 citations.
