Will Hardy is a Research Fellow in Pharmacoeconomics at the North Wales Medical School, Bangor University. He also serves as Deputy Health Economist for the One Wales Medicines Assessment Group and represents early career researchers at the Bangor Institute for Health and Medical Research (BIHMR). His work bridges health economics, clinical trials, and behavioral science.
- PhD in Sport Psychology, Bangor University (2021)
- BSc in Geography, Bangor University (2014)
Will's research focuses on economic evaluations alongside clinical trials, with strong interests in methodological research and psychosocial determinants of health behavior. His work spans cost-effectiveness analysis, survival modeling, and behavioral interventions in chronic conditions like epilepsy and addiction. He applies insights from sport and behavioral psychology to health economics contexts.
His recent publications show a clear trend toward interdisciplinary health economics, integrating clinical trial data with economic modeling, particularly in addiction treatment (e.g., BUP-XR), pediatric epilepsy (CASTLE Sleep-E), and advanced therapies. His work emphasizes pragmatic trial designs, real-world policy impact, and methodological rigor in extrapolating long-term outcomes.
Will is actively involved in major research trials including HEAL-COVID and CASTLE Sleep-E, contributing health economic and behavioral components. He advocates for early career researchers and aims to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration in health research.
