Dustin Duncan

Dustin Duncan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Brock University, Faculty of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on combating antimicrobial resistance through the discovery of novel antibiotics and antifungals, as well as targeting microbial pathogenesis.

His research spans disciplines like medicinal chemistry, organic synthesis, and immunology, with a particular emphasis on small molecule interactions with proteins, bioconjugation, and reaction discovery. Recent work explores the use of AI in drug screening and the role of itaconate derivatives in immune regulation.

Professor Duncan teaches courses including Advanced Organic Synthesis, Organic Reactions and Synthesis, and Indigenous Medicine and Medicinal Chemistry. He actively recruits graduate students (MSc and PhD) in Chemistry and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address global health crises.
