Duong Tran

Dr. Duong Tran (a.k.a. Danielle Tran) is a Senior Lecturer at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), University of New South Wales, within the Faculty of Medicine & Health. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology, Master of International Public Health, Bachelor of Medicine, and Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching.

Her research leverages population-based data to investigate medication safety, health services, and health outcomes. Key focus areas include:

• Pharmacoepidemiology of smoking cessation therapies during pregnancy
• Maternal mental health and substance use disorders
• Evaluation of primary care models like the Health Care Home program
• Development of real-world data platforms for perinatal research

Her publications predominantly explore pharmacotherapy safety in pregnancy, smoking cessation interventions, and health system evaluations. Recent work shows strong emphasis on multinational cohort studies and data resource development.

Dr. Tran teaches epidemiology and health data science courses, supervising PhD and Master's students. She chairs NDARC's Early Career Researcher group and is a member of international professional societies including the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology.
