معرفی
Duncan Rogers serves as a Reader in Respiratory Pharmacology and Principal Teaching Fellow within the Section of Airway Disease at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College London's Faculty of Medicine. His academic career integrates advanced teaching with research into respiratory disease mechanisms, particularly focusing on inflammation pathways in asthma, bronchitis, and cystic fibrosis.
His educational foundation includes a BSc in Applied Biology from Brunel University, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, and a PhD in Physiology from the University of London. These qualifications underpin his specialization in respiratory pathophysiology and pharmacology.
Dr Rogers' research investigates pathophysiological mechanisms of lung inflammation across respiratory diseases, with particular emphasis on bronchitis development in diverse lung conditions. His recent work explores plant-derived 'phytoceuticals' as novel therapeutics, bridging pharmacology, medical physiology, and clinical sciences within cardiorespiratory medicine. This interdisciplinary approach targets therapeutic innovations for chronic respiratory conditions.
His scientific recognition includes:
- Election as Fellow of the Society of Biology
As an educator, Dr Rogers coordinates the Respiratory Science BSc module and teaches undergraduate Pharmacology and Cell Biology courses. His professional service encompasses former chairmanship of the British Association for Lung Research, editorial roles for Thorax and the British Journal of Pharmacology, and committee memberships with the Institute of Biology and British Lung Foundation.
