Duncan Lees is an Assistant Professor (Teaching Focussed) in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick. His work bridges intercultural education, drama pedagogy, and ethnomethodological approaches using Conversation Analysis (CA) and Membership Categorisation Analysis (MCA). He explores reflexivity in research and neurodiversity's role in intercultural communication.
Teaching responsibilities include leading BA modules on Intercultural Pragmatics and contributing to the MSc Intercultural Communication for Business and the Professions (ICBP). He has taught at UK and Chinese universities, including Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, where he developed modules on Anglophone drama and literature.
