Douglas Moggach serves as a Distinguished University Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa, appointed to this title in 2011. He previously held the University Research Chair in Political Thought from 2007 to 2012 and maintains a cross-appointment to the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts since 1995. Additionally, he holds an ongoing Honorary Professorship at the University of Sydney's School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry since January 2009, reflecting his international academic standing.

Professor Moggach's research centers on Political Philosophy with specialized focus on the History of Ancient and Modern Political Thought and German Philosophy.
