Douglas Boin is a Professor of History at Saint Louis University's College of Arts and Sciences, specializing in the ancient Mediterranean world, Roman Empire, and Late Antiquity. He holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and M.A./Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on recovering marginalized histories, particularly of the Goths and early Christians, and directs the Spello Project in Italy, an archaeological initiative exploring the Umbrian town's understudied history. His work spans books, articles, and media contributions to The New York Times, NPR, and History Today.
