Andrew Donnelly is an Assistant Professor at the Department of History, Texas Tech University. His research focuses on late antiquity, particularly the transformation of the Roman Empire and the cultural values of ancient Italy and the Mediterranean, using a combination of textual and material evidence.

His scholarship explores material culture and foodways as lenses to understand quotidian life, labor practices, and cultural continuity during the Roman transition to Late Antiquity. Recent work includes analyzing ceramic vessels and shipwreck artifacts (e.g., Marzamemi II and Yassıada wrecks) to reconstruct ancient cooking, dining, and trade patterns.
