Dr David Gwynn is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at Royal Holloway, University of London. His academic expertise spans the transition from classical antiquity to medieval Christendom, focusing on the Roman Republic, Late Antique history, and the rise of Christianity. He coordinates the Study Abroad program and teaches modules such as Gods, Men and Power, The Later Roman Empire, and Christians and Pagans from Constantine to Augustine.
Research interests include the conversion of Constantine, theological disputes over the Trinity, and the impact of Germanic migrations on the Roman Empire. His notable works include the Oxford University Press Roman Republic entry in the Very Short Introductions series and The Goths: Lost Civilizations.
