Dorsey Armstrong is a Professor in the English Department at Purdue University and serves as editor-in-chief of the academic journal Arthuriana. She holds affiliated faculty positions in Medieval and Renaissance Studies and Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies programs.
She earned her Ph.D. from Duke University in 1998, following prior teaching appointments at Centenary College of Louisiana and California State University, Long Beach.
Her research centers on Arthurian literature, Malory's Morte Darthur, and gender studies within medieval contexts. Notable works include Gender and the Chivalric Community in Malory's Morte d'Arthur (2003) and a modern English translation of Malory's Morte Darthur (2009). Current projects examine fifteenth-century political geography's influence on Malory's text, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach bridging literary analysis with historical context.
