She served as associate dean for academic affairs from 1992 through 2009 and as interim dean from 2009 to 2011. She currently holds the Harold Reuschlein Leadership Chair position and previously served as the inaugural Heller McGuinness Leadership Chair from 2023-2025.
Professor Brogan received her JD magna cum laude from Villanova University School of Law, where she was research and projects editor of the Villanova Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She also earned a BA magna cum laude from Rowan University. Prior to joining the Villanova faculty, she practiced as an associate attorney in the litigation section of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia.
Her research spans legal ethics, criminal justice reform, privacy law, leadership in the legal profession, and public defender systems. Professor Brogan has been particularly vocal about structural reforms to Pennsylvania's public defense system, arguing for greater independence from political influence. Her scholarship reveals a consistent engagement with ethical dilemmas in legal practice, with recent work focusing on truth-telling in journalism, leadership development in legal education, and corporate compliance.
Professor Brogan teaches courses in Conflict of Laws, Domestic Abuse, Privacy Law Seminar, Legal Profession, and Torts. She serves on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Innocence Project and as chair emeritus of the board of directors of Riverbend Environmental Educational Center. Her recent presentations include 'Law Firms, Ethics, and Executive Orders' (April 2025) and multiple 'Lawyers as Leaders' sessions at Villanova Law (2023), demonstrating her ongoing active engagement in legal scholarship and education.
