Donna James

Dr. Donna James serves as the Department Chair of the School of Education and Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Catawba College. She also holds key leadership positions as Director of B-K Education for Catawba Online and Birth-Kindergarten Coordinator.

Her educational credentials include:

• Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University
• Master's Certificate in Educational Leadership/School Administration from UNC-Charlotte
• M.Ed. in Child and Family Studies: Early Education from UNC-Charlotte
• B.A. in English and Organizational Communication from UNC-Charlotte

Dr. James specializes in Early Education with emphasis on Birth-Kindergarten programs, Educational Technology, and School Administration. Her expertise spans curriculum development, program accreditation, and innovative teaching methodologies. She has extensive experience delivering courses in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats using the Blackboard platform.

Her professional achievements include national conference presentations on Early Education and Educational Technology, development of numerous online courses, and initiation of the first web-enhanced course delivery system at Catawba College.
