Dongmei Deng

Dr. Dongmei Deng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Preventive Dentistry at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam. Her research focuses on oral microbiology, microbial biofilms, and their roles in dental caries, periodontitis, and systemic health. She leads studies on antimicrobial agents, AI-driven caries management, and host-microbe interactions using in vitro models.

Her work is supported by grants like the Chiron Grant (2023) and projects such as MetaHealth (2023–2030), addressing childhood dental health and microbiome interventions. She contributes to editorial roles, including serving on the board of Critical Reviews in Microbiology.

Dr. Deng collaborates internationally, co-supervising PhD students at institutions in China and contributing to interdisciplinary research on microbial-driven chemoresistance and nanoparticulate drug carriers.
