معرفی
Bernd Brandt is an Assistant Professor at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), specializing in Preventive Dentistry. His research focuses on the oral microbiome, biofilm dynamics, and their implications in periodontal disease, systemic health, and pregnancy-related conditions. He actively contributes to interdisciplinary studies, including collaborations on equine periodontitis and rheumatoid arthritis risk associations.
Research Interests:
- Oral microbiome and host interactions
- Biofilm formation and pathogenesis
- Microbial ecology in dental caries and periodontitis
- Oral-systemic health connections, e.g., cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases
Recent work highlights include systematic reviews on Streptococcus mutans, in vitro biofilm models, and vitamin C supplementation effects in periodontal therapy. His datasets, such as those on equine periodontitis microbiomes, are publicly accessible via Figshare. He has supervised 4 PhD theses and contributed to academic activities like symposia on bioinformatics and microbiome data analysis.
