Donatella Alessandrini

Donatella Alessandrini is Professor of Law at Kent Law School, University of Kent, and a British Academy fellow. She is affiliated with the IEL collective and focuses on critical legal studies intersecting anti-capitalist and post-colonial feminist theories.

Her research explores the interplay between technological advancement and social degradation within value chain capitalism, particularly in international trade law contexts. This work emphasizes themes of value-capture, development, and social reproduction.

Her recent contributions include a 2020 article analyzing value-capture mechanisms in international trade law through post-colonial and feminist lenses. The article highlights contradictions in capitalist development models.
