Donald W. Mitchell is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Purdue University's College of Liberal Arts, specializing in Comparative Philosophy, Eastern Philosophy, and Philosophy of Religions. His work bridges Buddhist and Christian thought, focusing on interfaith engagement, spiritual journeys, and ecological perspectives.
He received his PhD from the University of Hawaii and has been recognized with prestigious honors such as the Roche Chair for Interreligious Research (2005) and the Luminosa Award for Interfaith Activities (1991). Currently, he is developing a book project titled Green Monasticism: Buddhist and Christian Perspectives on Ecology, exploring intersections between monastic traditions and environmental ethics.
