Dr. William Hyland is a Senior Lecturer in Church History and Director of Research at the School of Divinity, University of St Andrews. He joined in 2013 after teaching at American institutions including Cornell University and St Norbert College. He holds a BA from Emory University and MA/PhD from Cornell. Specializing in medieval church history, monasticism, spirituality, and Mariology, he is also involved with the Cusanus Society UK/Ireland and the St Andrews Institute for Medieval Studies (SAIMS). His teaching includes courses on medieval monastic spirituality, Bonaventure, and Mariology.
