Donald M. Truxillo is a Professor in the Department of Work & Employment Studies at the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, Ireland, and a member of the Ageing Research Centre. Previously, he served as a professor in the industrial/organizational psychology program at Portland State University.

His research centers on recruitment methodologies, workplace safety, age-related work dynamics, and organizational socialization. He investigates employer hiring practices, applicant experiences during recruitment, and age discrimination impacts on workplace well-being and performance. His work directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through advancing fair employment practices.
Recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate consistent focus on organizational socialization meta-analyses, age discrimination mechanisms, and applicant behavior in digital hiring contexts. These works employ mixed-methods approaches spanning qualitative interviews, multilevel modeling, and cross-cultural field studies, reflecting his expertise in bridging theoretical I/O psychology with practical HR solutions.
