Donald Dale is a Clinical Professor of Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and currently serves as Associate Chair of the department. He holds a BS in Economics and BA in Physics from the University of Delaware (1990), an MA in Economics from Princeton University (1993), and a PhD in Economics from Princeton (2000). Prior to joining Kellogg in 2015, he held tenure as a professor at Muhlenberg College and served as a lecturer at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School. His research employs experimental methodologies to study incentive structures, charitable giving, gambling behavior, and climate policy. He teaches courses in microeconomic theory, data analytics, and game theory.
Dr. Dale has won numerous teaching awards, including the Sidney Levy Teaching Award (2022-23), L.G. Lavengood Outstanding Professor of the Year (2020), and multiple Kellogg Impact Awards. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with real-world policy applications, particularly in climate change mitigation and public finance. He has contributed to the design of sports labor systems and analyzed the fungibility of state lottery revenues.
