معرفی
Dominique Routhier is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Arts, Roskilde University, specializing in interdisciplinary research that bridges Philosophy, Art History, and Cultural Analysis. His work critically examines the cultural history and philosophy of automation, from historical avant-garde practices to contemporary AI debates.
- PhD in Cultural Studies (2020) and MA in Philosophy (2015)
Routhier’s research spans three interconnected themes: the history of vandalism, the notion of “art abolitionism”, and the 1960s humanism/anti-humanism debates, particularly influenced by Raya Dunayevskaya’s “black dimension” of humanism. His 2023 book With and Against (Verso) reinterprets the Situationist International’s engagement with cybernetics and automation, earning acclaim in outlets like e-flux and Los Angeles Review of Books.
Recent publications include peer-reviewed articles in Historical Materialism and Nordic Journal of Aesthetics, focusing on Marxist aesthetics and avant-garde movements. He has received the 2024 FORART Grant and multiple Travel Grants (2017–2024). Collaborative projects include co-editing a Danish book series on art and politics for Antipyrine with Mikkel Bolt Rasmussen and organizing the 2025 Political Aesthetics conference with Tobias Dias and Louis Hartnoll.
