Maria Elena Versari is a Visiting Professor of Art History & Theory at Carnegie Mellon University's College of Fine Arts. Her research focuses on 19th-20th century art, emphasizing intersections between art and technology, international avant-garde movements, and totalitarian aesthetics. She holds a PhD from Scuola Normale Superiore and has held roles at institutions like the University of Messina, Rice University, and the Getty Research Institute.
