Dominique Hinson is the Associate Director of Trial Advocacy and an Associate Professor of Law at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law since July 2024. She specializes in teaching advocacy skills through McGeorge’s award-winning Trial Advocacy program and supervises nationally recognized competition teams.
Prior to joining McGeorge, she served as the Director of Appellate Advocacy and adjunct professor at South Texas College of Law Houston, where she taught advocacy courses and coached students for a decade. She is also a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), delivering trial and deposition skills training nationwide.

Her research focuses on pedagogical methods in advocacy education, informed by her presentations at conferences like Educating Advocates: Teaching Advocacy Skills (EATS) and the Training Advocates Conference. She has held leadership roles in the National Association of Legal Advocacy Educators, including Vice President of Moot Court (2023–2024) and Region 10 Representative (2022–2023).
Scientific Awards/Honors:
- Recognized as Dean’s Outstanding Advocate during her JD studies
- Inducted into the prestigious Order of the Barristers
Before academia, she practiced commercial litigation and employment law, admitted to Texas state courts and federal courts in the Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of Texas. Her work emphasizes empowering law students and legal professionals to solve community challenges through advocacy.
