Dominique Cardon is a Professor of Sociology at Sciences Po's médialab, where he leads research at the intersection of digital technologies, social theory, and algorithmic governance. Previously, he held positions at Orange Labs (Laboratory of Uses/SENSE) and University of Paris Est/LATTS. His work spans three decades of analyzing digital sociability, from early media uses to contemporary algorithmic systems.

Cardon's recent publications focus on AI controversies, digital mapping of media ecosystems, and algorithmic impacts on social categories. His scholarship bridges technical analysis of algorithms with sociological inquiry about their societal implications.
Current projects include Algoglitch (public sensitivity to algorithmic computation), Shaping AI (historical AI development), and Gouverner la parole en ligne (online speech governance). He co-organizes the TransNum seminar series and contributes to interdisciplinary debates about digital democracy, platform regulation, and computational fairness.
