Dominic Thomas is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University, specializing in consumer behavior within the Department of Marketing. He serves as Course Director for the Master of Applied Marketing and leads marketing specialization in the Master of Business program.
His research explores judgment and decision-making, focusing on the impact of social influences, emotions, and poverty on consumer choices. Recent projects address nutrition labeling, digital divide, loyalty programs, and superstitious behavior, with publications in journals like the Journal of Retailing, European Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Economic Psychology.
His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1: Poverty, SDG 3: Health). Notable collaborations include projects funded by the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth), such as evaluating the impact of Health Star Ratings on grocery baskets. He also contributes to community engagement as a Board Member of the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited.
