Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centerمعرفی
Dobromir Dimitrov, PhD, serves as Principal Staff Scientist in the Donnell Lab within the Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Epidemiology Program of the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutch. He concurrently holds Senior Staff Scientist positions in Fred Hutch's Public Health Sciences Division and an academic appointment as Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington.
His educational credentials include:
- PhD in Mathematics from University of Texas at Arlington (2005)
- MS in Mathematics from University of Texas at Arlington (2003)
- BS in Mathematics from Sofia University (1995)
Dr. Dimitrov specializes in mathematical epidemiology with emphasis on HIV transmission dynamics. His research integrates advanced modeling techniques including ordinary/partial differential equations and impulsive systems to evaluate public health interventions. Current projects analyze drug resistance mechanisms in pre-exposure prophylaxis, develop optimal HIV prevention frameworks, and investigate transmission interruption strategies among high-risk MSM populations.
He contributes to the Donnell Lab's mission within Fred Hutch's Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division, applying mathematical biology to real-world infectious disease challenges through collaborative public health research.
