Prof. Dimitris Dalakoglou is a Full Professor at Vrije University Amsterdam since 2015, holding the Chair of Social Anthropology and Sociology of Development. He co-directs the lab on Infrastructures, Sustainability and Commons. His research focuses on infrastructures, crisis, and grassroots movements in Europe, with expertise on the Balkans, Eastern Europe, and the Mediterranean. He has authored over 100 publications and books, including Infrastructural Harm (2023) and Crisis-scapes (2014). Dalakoglou has received grants such as the NWO-Vidi and Stimulation Grant for sustainability research. He co-produced documentaries like Future Suspended and Wasting the West.

Research Interests: Anthropology of infrastructures, crisis ethnography, urban politics, and socio-political movements. His work bridges material culture, state dynamics, and global inequalities. Recent projects include studies on sustainability and infrastructural contestation, funded by Dutch and international grants.
